As I reviewed work, I couldn’t help but reflect on the words of Adrienne Maree Brown: “I am fascinated by those instances when you can feel the fabric of the universe between you and another being fall away or bunch together, bringing you magnificently undeniably closer.”
Small moments of connection, quiet moments of being, our openness to shared experiences—I was drawn to work that uncovered the intangibility of the human condition. Through the literal and figurative, this show captures how we see each other, our place in the world, and the power of connection. Now more than ever, our common intimacies and small moments connect us, embrace us, and keep us grounded. I hope you’ll join me in collectively sharing our inner worlds.
It was an absolute honor to serve as the juror for Untitled 19. Thank you to everyone who submitted such thoughtful and inspiring work. -Keisha Williams
