Sleep Comes Free, 2015 mixed media graphite on paper 36” X 30’

Sleep Comes Free is a book I made based on the poem The Sleepers by Walt Whitman.


The book is an accordion book measuring 37” X 30’ when completely unfolded.  It is graphite on paper.   Each shape represents a letter and each grouping of shapes is a word in the poem.  Every word in the poem The Sleepers is accounted for in my interpretation.
