Geist is a series of gouache paintings, painted on over beaten Belgian flax that I beat and sheet-formed at Cave Paper in Minneapolis, MN. The images stem from my mind, imagination, dreams, and personal mythology. Other images have been taken from media, art history and popular culture.

Ebben's shadowy figures are evocative of the show's title, nudging viewers to think of the ethereal. Even his fragile, handmade flax paper presents a certain ghostliness; the dried ink has pulled and subtly contorted each piece. Coco Mault City Pages
